PROGRAMS
Start. Improve. Succeed.
We believe hockey is for EVERYONE! That's why we have designed a development program focused on helping players of all levels have fun, improve, and succeed.Â
One of the most common questions we receive is, "How do we get started?". Below you'll find a list of programs that we offer at KJ's Ice Barn as well as answers to frequently asked questions. If you can't find the answers you are looking for, don't worry give us a call or send us and email. We'll be happy to help.

Leagues and classes are offered throughout the year. The chart below provides an overview of the typical program schedule throughout the year.

Frequently asked questions
You’re in the right place! We welcome brand-new players. Depending on your child’s age and skating ability, Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey, or our YETI House League can all be great places to start. Feel free to reach out. We'll be happy to give you advice on what might work best for your player.Â
You don't need to! Many YETI families are new to hockey when they first walk through the doors. We'll help with equipment, explain how everything works and answer your questions along the way. Before long, you'll be cheering from the stands with everyone else!
No! Complete beginners can start with Learn to Skate or Learn to Play Hockey, where they’ll develop the basic skating and hockey skills they need. Players who are already comfortable on skates may be ready to jump right into House League.
No! YETI players can rent a full set of protective hockey equipment and skates for just $25 for the entire season. That makes it possible to get started without investing hundreds of dollars in equipment.
No! Our House League is designed for players of all skill levels, including complete beginners. Our goal is for every player to be appropriately challenged while still having fun and building confidence. Players are grouped by age AND skill level. Our coaches work hard to develop players at their individual skill level. Beginners don't need to "catch up" before joining—they develop by participating.
No. House League is completely local.
Our primary YETI House League season runs November through March. We typically hold Learn to Play classes in June and September. Learn to Skate classes run regularly throughout the year.
